Sibiong Tech, the No. 1 female tennis player, defeated Fernandez at the Dubai tournament

‘World Ranking No. 1’ Iga Sibiong Tech (Poland) overcame the sluggishness at the Australian Open and showed a recently revived performance.

1st seed Sibiong Tech defeated 20-year-old Shinshin Reile Fernandez (Canada, 37th) in the second round of the UAE Dubai Duty Free Championship (WTA 1000) on the 21st (local time) in 1 hour and 13 minutes 6-1 6- 1 and advanced to the round of 16.

Sibiongtech met Fernandez in the round of 16 of the 1st Adelaide International in January of last year and won 6-1 6-2.

Sibiong Tech, who lifted eight tour trophies last year, including the French Open and US Open, suffered a crushing blow to her ego when she was knocked out in the round of 16 at her first Grand Slam of the season, the Australian Open.

However, right before she did, she successfully defended her title by winning her first win of the season at the Total Energy Open (WTA 500) held in Doha, Qatar. proved  안전놀이터

Sibiong Tech said, “It was much more difficult than the score shows. It was not an easy game. I needed to go up a notch. I didn’t have much time to adapt, but I am happy to be able to play solid tennis.”

Sibiong Tech then faces Ludmila Samsonova (Russia, 13th) in the round of 16. Sibiong Tech had once won against Samso Nova in her semifinal match at last year’s Porsche Grand Prix (WTA 500).

Meanwhile, Arina Sabalenka (Belarus, No. 2), the Australian Open champion and the second seed in the tournament, defeated Lauren Davis (USA, No. 49), who won the tour once this year, 6-0 6-1 in the second round. Yelena Ostapenko (Latvia, 20th) also advanced to the round of 16 by beating Linda Pruvyrtova (Czech Republic, 52nd) 6-2 6-0.
