Samsung’s Kim Young-Woong hits his first home run of the season as a ground ball

Samsung Lions’ Kim Young-woong (20) hit a ground ball for his first home run of the season.

Kim started at third base in the ninth spot in the lineup against KT Wiz in the 2023 Shinhan Bank Solar KBO League at KT Wiz Park in Suwon on Saturday.

With runners on first and third in the bottom of the second inning with his team leading 1-0, Kim faced KT starter Wes Benjamin. On a 3-ball-1 strike, he took a five-pitch changeup and sent it just in front of the right-field fence.

Right fielder Kim Min-hyuk rushed over and stretched out his glove, but couldn’t catch the ball and it hit the fence.

Meanwhile, the two runners continued to run, including Kim. Kim stole second and third, and then rounded the bases with ease, completing the grounder with his feet without going over the fence.스포츠토토

It was Kim’s first home run of the season and his first ground ball in the KBO this year.

It is also his 91st career groundball in the KBO. The most recent one was hit by Yasiel Puig (Kiwoom Heroes) on August 25 last year against Song Myung-ki (NC) in the Changwon NC Dinos game.
