‘PGA Tour 17 wins’ Furyk appointed next year’s Presidents Cup US team general manager

Jim Furyk, who has 17 victories on the PGA Tour, will lead the U.S. team at the Presidents Cup, a men’s golf competition to be held next year.

The Presidents Cup and PGA Tour announced on the 3rd (Korean time) that Furyk has been appointed as the general manager of the U.S. team for the 2024 tournament.

The Presidents Cup is a men’s golf competition between the United States and international teams (excluding Europe) held once every two years, and the 2024 tournament 크크크벳 will be held at the Royal Montreal Golf Club in Montreal, Canada next September.

In the international team, Mike Weir (Canada), who won 8 victories on the PGA Tour in December last year, was selected as the general manager, and the US team was selected this time.

Furyk, who won 17 wins on the PGA Tour, including the 2003 US Open, participated in seven Presidents Cups between 1998 and 2011, recording 20 wins, 3 draws and 10 losses.

In the 2007 tournament, he played at the Royal Montreal Golf Club and recorded 3 wins and 2 losses. Two of these wins were won in matches teamed with Tiger Woods.

In 2011, his last appearance as a player, he led the United States to the championship by setting a record of ‘5 matches’ for the 4th time in history.

Afterwards, he participated in the 2015 and 2017 Presidents Cup as the vice-captain of the US team, and in 2018, he served as the US team captain in the Ryder Cup, a match between the US and Europe.

Furyk said, “It is a great honor to be appointed general manager with the support of my colleagues. I accepted with great gratitude. So far, legendary players have led Team USA as general manager. Because of their achievements, the general manager position in 2024 is a dream for me. It gives more meaning,” he said.
