‘Leverkusen Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation’ legend coach, Tottenham 1st pick sudden rise… Nagelsmann and ‘comparative advantage’

Will Xabi Alonso, who has built a great career in La Liga, Premier League and Bundesliga, return to the Premier League as manager? Tottenham Hotspur are looking for him.

The British media mirror said on the 7th (Korean time) that Xabi Alonso has emerged as the top manager candidate for chairman Daniel Levy.

The media reported that “Chairman Levy will pay the buyout of Xabi Alonso,” and “Tottenham chairman has selected Alonso as the number one candidate for the next manager. He will pay the stumbling block penalty and resign from Leverkusen.”

According to media outlets, Tottenham must pay Leverkusen a year’s worth of Alonso’s salary before signing him. Alonso also said he was aware of Tottenham manager rumors.

“The rumors are common, but we still have a lot of work to do,” said Alonso.

Alonso made his debut for Real Sociedad in the summer of 2000 and played Liverpool-Real Madrid-Bayern Munich before retiring in the summer of 2017. After winning many trophies with Liverpool, Real Madrid and Munich, he walked the path of leadership.

Starting with his parents’ Real Madrid youth team coach, he took over as Real Sociedad B team manager in the summer of 2019, making his professional coaching debut. 스포츠토토

After laying down the baton last summer, he joined Leverkusen in October of last year when his performance was sluggish. Leverkusen, which was 17th at the time and in the relegation zone, has completely changed under the leadership of Alonso.

In 23 Bundesliga games after taking office, Alonso secured 13 wins, 4 draws, 6 losses and 43 points, raising Leverkusen to 6th place. 7th place Wolfsburg (46 points) and 8th place Mainz (45 points) are competing fiercely for 6th place, the only remaining European competition spot.

Furthermore, Alonso advances to the semifinals of the ongoing UEFA (European Football Confederation) Europa League and is facing a clash with Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma, who was also his mentor.

Tottenham’s performance in the league and European competitions kept an eye on Alonso and made him a top priority internally.
