Lee Kang-in showed off his dribbling skills in his final match for Real Mallorca.
Real Mallorca defeated Rayo Vallecano 3-0 in the final match of the 38th round of the 2022-23 Spanish La Liga season at Estadio Mallorca Sonmosi in Mallorca, Spain, at 1:30 a.m. ET on Friday. The win leaves Mallorca in ninth place with 14 wins, eight draws and 16 losses (50 points).
Led by Javier Aguirre, Mallorca lined up in a 5-4-1 formation. Bedat Murki, Lee Kang-in, Luiz de Galleta, Manu Morales, Dani Rodriguez, Jaume Costa, Kopete, Antonio Raiyo, Martin Valente, Pablo Mapeo, and Leo Roman started.
The result was a 3-0 thrashing. Mallorca took the lead in the sixth minute of the second half through Murki. In the 26th minute, Kopete extended the lead. He was assisted by Lee Kang-in. Angel Rodriguez scored the winner in stoppage time to make it 3-0.
Lee Kang-in’s performance was dazzling. In what was effectively his last game in a Mallorca jersey, Lee finished the season with six goals and six assists (36 games). His dribbling skills were at their peak as Mallorca fans chanted “Lee Kang-in.” On the day, Lee completed four of his six dribbling attempts. His movement under pressure from Rayo was amazing.
In the process, Lee reached 90 successful dribbles. That’s second in La Liga. Yannick Carrasco (Atletico Madrid), Nico Williams (Athletic Bilbao), and Ousmane Dembele (Barcelona) are all below Lee in La Liga for their dribbling skills. Samuel Chukwueze (Villarreal) is also on the list with 86.
The only player above him is Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid). He is the best dribbler in the world beyond La Liga with 112 successful dribbles. Only Lee Kang-in is above him. He has at least 90 more successful dribbles than Vinicius. In addition to his dribbling successes, Lee has one key pass, three fouls, and one successful cross and one successful long pass.
Spain’s As said, “Lee had a great game. The home fans gave him a great send-off as he is reportedly leaving Mallorca. It’s impossible to keep him in Mallorca,” and emphasized that Lee’s performance was so great that Mallorca could no longer hold on to him.
Lee is currently being linked to Atletico Madrid. Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo reported on the 2nd that “Atletico really like Lee Kang-in. He can play both in the center and on the flanks. He can dribble in front of the opponent and break through. He’s been a target for Atletico for a long time. He can also play the role of Carrasco. He is also a possible replacement for the departing Thomas Lemar. His ability to connect, turn quickly and execute his thoughts is excellent.”스포츠토토
“We want to mitigate the potential departure of Carrasco and Lemar by signing Lee Kang-in. Along with Lee, Samuel Leno (Valencia) is on Atletico’s radar.”
‘OK Diario’ also reported that “Atletico have delivered their first official offer for Lee to Mallorca. The first offer includes money and players. Lee’s release clause is 25 million euros (about 35 billion won). His transfer would mean the transfer of Lemar.”
