Kium Song Sung-moon loses a hit to bad luck after being hit by an umpire and turning into a ground ball.

Kiwoom Heroes infielder Song Sung-moon lost one hit.

In the bottom of the fourth inning of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League game against the LG Twins at Gocheok Sky Dome on Aug. 8, with a 7-0 lead, Song Sung-moon stepped to the plate to face Kim Yoon-sik.

Song hit the first pitch hard and the ball traveled down the line, but it bounced off first baseman Kim Gap-soo, who was standing in right field, and first baseman Austin caught it, dived to first base, and touched the base with his glove.

Kiwoom conducted a video review to determine if Song’s hit was foul or fair. After about a minute of video review, the call was upheld as fair, and LG grounded out what could have been a long ball to right field. It was an unlucky grounder for Song Sung-moon.

Kiwoom, however, took the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning with four runs before Song Sung-moon came to bat. After Lee Ji-young singled and Kim Hwijip sacrificed to put runners on first and second, Kim Soo-hwan hit an RBI double that crashed into the wall behind the right fielder. With two on and three out, Kim Hye-sung singled, Lee Jung-hoo tripled down the 스포츠토토 right field line, and Russell followed with a single up the middle.

LG escaped further damage, but Kim Yoon-sik set the tone in the fourth inning with seven runs. Kim gave up two RBI doubles to Lee Jung-hoo with runners on first and second and a single to Lee Hyung-jong with runners on first and third after Russell’s hit.

Kiwoom led 7-0 at the end of the fifth inning.
